Leaving Brighton: A Collection of Post Punk Poems available now on Kindle.

I am pleased to say my first collection of illustrated poems is now available to buy worldwide on Kindle for the ridiculously low price of £1.49 or whatever local currency you have spare – I kept it as low as possible so Bezos wouldn’t make millions out of me! Enjoy! Here’s the link or just search ‘Leaving Brighton’ on Amazon:

Give and Take

I give – You take
I give a little more – You take a little more

I back off – You take
I back off a little more – You take a little more

I go quiet – You take
I stay quiet – You take a little more

I relent – You take
I relent a little more – You take a little more

I give – You win

victims of fashion

the fashion trend of skinny jeans
makes no sense for overweight teens

except perhaps to mock and remind
what fun our youth have left behind

and now their futures can be seen
through portals of smartphone screens

a flock of sheep following fake dreams
everything today is what it seems

the party’s over, the songs all sung
a bitter taste to coat the tongue

with debt, pollution, global warming
is it time for them to dress in mourning?
